For the last 16 years Marykutty has been doing odds and ends in a doctor’s house. Though she earns only a paltry wage of 125 a day, that doesn’t deter her from giving succour to a poor child by sponsoring his education and thereby setting a glowing example for thousands to follow. When she was stricken by Psoriasis and withering away with her face and scalp covered in sores and scales, it was the healing hand of Jesus that saved her from her abject misery.

Brimming with love and gratitude to the Lord who healed her, she was the first one from the Heavenly Feast, Trivandrum church to step out to sponsor a child. She couldn’t but do it because that severe was her condition before the Lord healed her. She recollects the days when she struggled every morning to extricate herself from the bed sheet that got stuck on her festering sores on the head. Though the family she was working for was good enough to take her to many other physicians for further treatment, it brought little comfort to her.

One of those days of her utter misery, she happened to see the TV program of the Heavenly Feast as she was carelessly switching over the channels. Br. Thanku was praying for the sick and the afflicted, and as he was doing so he said that Jesus was healing a sister who was suffering very painfully from Psoriasis on the head. That very moment itself a very soothing coolness came over her. In a few minutes’ time she could feel a palpable difference on her head. On touching it, she realized that, the oozing of pus and the watery fluid was miraculously stopped. Before long, all the sores got dried up and the scales started to fall from the head and she mopped it up and threw it away. After that, to date, she hasn’t been afflicted by that debilitating disease any more. Now her heart bursts out with gratitude to her good Lord Jesus. Nobody will be surprised even if she sponsors a hundred children!

There is a glint of determination in Usha’s eyes when she is doing her back-breaking and soul- destroying chores in the kitchen of a wayside restaurant. Not because of the desire for an early finish to go home and take rest but to buttress the dream of a child elsewhere sitting in a classroom and thinking big about its future. So the meagre wage of 200 she earns from her job every day at this hotel at Chala in Trivandrum doesn’t discourage her from sowing into a noble cause of supporting the education a poor child- a child she has never seen, a child she hasn’t given birth to. She has always lived the hard way. A few years ago, her husband killed himself leaving two young daughters solely under her care. She was unfazed and looked hardship in the eye and slogged from dawn to dusk to bring up her daughters. However, now she is slogging for a different cause. From the trivial amount she gets from the restaurant, she is supporting the education of a poor child.

She came to the Heavenly Feast for the first time to pray for the healing of her grandson who had been suffering from a serious disease in spite of many years’ treatment. When she heard about the child sponsorship program, she decided to take over a child that day itself. Miraculously, her grandson who had been admitted in the hospital was healed and was discharged the next day. In spite of suffering from many diseases including diabetes she never went to a physician nor spent money on medicines so that her support to the child wouldn’t be affected. Though she doesn’t have a house of her own and living in a small cramped rented house, she says, happily and contentedly, that she wants to sponsor one more child. Isn’t she touching our conscience as well?

As part of our ongoing mission to bring hope and transformation, Reach World Wide conducted a motivational session at the Central Prison & Correctional Home, Poojappura. The session was attended by over 200 inmates, who actively participated with great enthusiasm and openness.

This initiative aimed to inspire positive thinking, personal reflection, and emotional healing among the inmates. Through powerful storytelling, engaging interactions, and practical life lessons, the session encouraged them to believe in second chances and to work towards a brighter future.

We are grateful to the prison authorities for their support and look forward to continuing such efforts that sow seeds of change, even in the most unexpected places.

Reigniting Lives. Restoring Hope.

Reach World Wide, in collaboration with the Social Justice Department, Kerala and the District Probation Office, Kottayam, conducted a powerful motivational training session at Kottayam District Jail. The session was attended by around 70 prisoners, aiming to inspire hope, transformation, and a fresh start.

One of the most impactful moments of the session was the real-life testimonies shared by our volunteers—individuals who were once in prison but have now turned their lives around. They spoke about their journey from struggles to success, proving that change is possible with the right mindset and support.

A renowned motivational trainer led an interactive session, engaging the participants in discussions on self-improvement, positive thinking, and rehabilitation. The response was overwhelming, and it was truly a moving experience for both the prisoners and our team.

Together, we have planned several future initiatives to support rehabilitation, skill development, and social reintegration for inmates. Reach World Wide remains committed to creating second chances and empowering lives.
